08 – Retexturing German Scene

RETEXTURING BRIGHT INTERIOR

NOTE FORMAT: I believe it’s better to have a complete overview in concise writing, rather than a 10–15 min video
(moreover, AIs never produce the same result twice)

1. CREATE A GOOD SCENE IN 3DS MAX

Lighting and Composition of this scene are deeply covered in all the details in the LIGHTING MODULE (> Check my Corona Official Course). In these lessons we learn how to mix natural light with some artificial sources, by appying my hierarchy theory for interior Lighting.

Only from a good render
comes a good Retexturing!

The Corona Official Course is available in:

2. RETEXTURING: GOOGLE AI STUDIO

https://aistudio.google.com/prompts/new_chat

The retexturing process allows you to replace colors and textures in an image while maintaining its original layout, thanks to AI. To perform this step, I used the new and popular “engine” which is: “Nano Banana” – Pick it!

Important: Use a VPN in case the service is still not active in your country!

Now, click on the plus button ( + ) to upload your image, as starting point.

This step is very important because we will keep exactly the same composition and lighting of our starting image, and we will only replace the style, meaning the colors and the surface properties of the image

3. PROMPT

Use a prompt which is not too short (since some commands are mandatory) but also no too long to keep full control on it. Here you have my tests, I picked 5 of 15-20 I actually did.

This is the prompt I refined after many tests:

“Reimagine this image, retexturing all surfaces while keeping the structure consistent. Apply the color palette: orange and red, with gray walls. The sofa is white, and the carpet is fluffy white. Cushions on the sofa and pillows on the bed also feature black and white stripes. Ultra-realistic details, upscale to 32K, 4:5 aspect ratio”

4. Quick explaination about what worked for me, sentence by sentence:

– Reimagine this image, retexturing all surfaces while keeping the structure consistent
(his part is important to keep the image consistent with the source)

– Apply the color palette: orange and red, with gray walls.
(This is what you can change to expleriment different combinations)

– The sofa is white, and the carpet is fluffy white. Cushions on the sofa and pillows on the bed also feature black and white stripes.
(These are some furniture I would keep intact, just because I like!)

– Ultra-realistic details, upscale to 32K, 4:5 aspect ratio.
(Finally, this is to get the better resolution possible)
