FAQ

1. What’s included in the course?
– 3h of pre-recorded lessons, prepared with script
– The source file created in Corona for 3ds Max
– The files exported in .vrscene format (suitable for V-Ray users)
– The final Vantage file, with the complete animation
– Official Vantage Certification, Chaos Academic

2. Required Software to Use Vantage
Chaos Vantage is a software dedicated exclusively to rendering still images and animations, optimized to take full advantage of GPU power. It does not allow direct modeling, but works with files that are already complete with geometry, materials, and UV mapping.
These files must be created with Corona or V-Ray, using either 3ds Max or Cinema 4D, and are imported via the universal .vrscene format, which ensures full compatibility across Chaos tools.

3. Minimum recommended hardware
Vantage relies entirely on GPU power, so Chaos recommends using Nvidia RTX series cards or newer. The course was recorded using an RTX 4060 Ti (16 GB), a low-to-mid-range card that already offers excellent performance. Now imagine how fast the Vantage could be with better hardware.

4. Is this course suitable if I use V-Ray or Cinema 4D?
Absolutely! The course is almost entirely focused on using Chaos Vantage and exploring its specific features.
It doesn’t matter whether you work with Corona or V-Ray, or whether you use 3ds Max or Cinema 4D: all of these tools communicate perfectly with Vantage through the .vrscene export format.

5. Is there an educational Vantage license?
At the moment, Vantage is only included in commercial plans alongside Corona and V-Ray,
but it will soon be part of the new educational bundles available in the coming months.
In the meantime, I recommend taking advantage of the current offer on the website,
as you won’t see the presale prices again.

6. How powerful is a GPU, really?
To give you a concrete example: an Nvidia RTX 5070 — a mid-range GPU costing around $600 — can render one frame from this course project in under 40 seconds (Full HD, 1920×1080), with no need for special optimizations.
By comparison, the same image would take about 15 minutes to render in Corona or V-Ray, even when using a high-end CPU.
